Southern Book Carnival

Favorite Character

“I don't care when people think I'm an antisocial, controlling bookworm because that's what I am. It's when they interpret me wrong that I have a problem.”

― Kasie West, Pivot Point

So you know how you meet those people and on the surface your like oh they are so great! But once walk away from the conversation your like they're OK. And then you meet someone else and they just quietly ingrain their selves into your soul and when someone asks you who your favorite person is and your really true to yourself and take in all things that person sneaks up and smiles at you inside you know you just know that that is the greatest person. That friend is the best friend. That human is your favorite human.

That is how I am going to end the Southern Book Carnival. I have read so many books, I have told ya'll about so many books that it is so hard to know to really know who your favorite character is. And I have made my decision.

Knowing the outcome doesn’t always make a choice easier . . .

Addison Coleman’s life is one big “What if?” As a Searcher, whenever Addie is faced with a choice, she can look into the future and see both outcomes. It’s the ultimate insurance plan against disaster. Or so she thought. When Addie’s parents ambush her with the news of their divorce, she has to pick who she wants to live with—her father, who is leaving the paranormal compound to live among the “Norms,” or her mother, who is staying in the life Addie has always known. Addie loves her life just as it is, so her answer should be easy. One Search six weeks into the future proves it’s not.

In one potential future, Addie is adjusting to life outside the Compound as the new girl in a Norm high school where she meets Trevor, a cute, sensitive artist who understands her. In the other path, Addie is being pursued by the hottest guy in school—but she never wanted to be a quarterback’s girlfriend. When Addie’s father is asked to consult on a murder in the Compound, she’s unwittingly drawn into a dangerous game that threatens everything she holds dear. With love and loss in both lives, it all comes down to which reality she’s willing to live through . . . and who she can’t live without.

Addison Coleman.

Addison Coleman, the socially awkward, geeky, and slightly sarcastic Divergent. She can Search her future. She can make decisions, she's a loyal friend, and hilarious. She is so real, she has her quirks and her weird moments.

Today I kicking off with a music spectacular!!

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen

I absolutely loved Just Listen’s story and characters and writing but above all, I loved the emphasis on music. So here is my playlist for Just listen.

So I have 10 songs on this playlist, but its missing something. Can you think of a song that should be added? Think clean please. Comment the name of the song and the artist, I’ll listen and pick the top two and you will get an extra entry into the pot for the awesome prize pack!

A little help if you haven’t had the chance to read this rocking book:

Last year, Annabel was "the girl who has everything" — at least that's the part she played in the television commercial for Kopf's Department Store.

This year, she's the girl who has nothing: no best friend because mean-but-exciting Sophie dropped her, no peace at home since her older sister became anorexic, and no one to sit with at lunch. Until she meets Owen Armstrong.

Tall, dark, and music-obsessed, Owen is a reformed bad boy with a commitment to truth-telling. With Owen's help, maybe Annabel can face what happened the night she and Sophie stopped being friends. ~Goodreads
