Sacrifice of Love. The last of the series. Well not really but the next one is a prequel so-though I am looking forward to it- for all intents and purposes of this post its that last of the series. I am so sad! and excited! I honestly get so excited and jumpy when someone brings up this book! It is killing me to have to wait so long. But then I get sad, just thinking about how my journey with these characters that I have become so close to are about to end. Its bittersweet. But that doesn’t change the fact that I am buying this book the day it comes out and if you haven’t started this series- it is an absolute must.

So here I am- sitting and after finishing six books in as many days and I still have another day or two to go on my trip back home I end up scrolling through my kindle and remember this one. So I open it up and I’m hooked. The first sentence is, “The grey-eyed boy flew down the M6 at unnatural speeds.” I mean, who can resist that? I know I can’t! So I read, and read, and read, until 5 hours later I am throwing my iPhone across the car in frustration because the book is missing and ending and I have no idea when #2 is coming out.

Vrinda Pendred had managed to ensnare me into this world of abilities and magic. I recently put away a book filled with all new mythologies and fantasy worlds because it was too confusing., and I liked my current views on the magical realm of fiction. But The Descendants managed to pull me into yet another world that I have gladly added to my collection of fantasy universes.

Itzel Loveguard- Itzy- is the heroine. Scratch that. She is the amazing heroine. Itzy has successfully placed herself on my favorite female list. She is strong and powerful, being a descendant of a powerful race with magical abilities will do that to a person. She has common sense (inner squee), and she is brave, which she has to be to deal with psycho ex-girlfriends and evil family members. She had a tendency to be a little too trusting but it hasn't come to bite her in the butt, yet. She has had a bad and relatively lonely childhood but she doesn't let that slow her down in any way. If anything it helps here put the bad things that happen behind her and she can keep moving forward.

Ethan is so freaking marvelous you cannot keep from loving him. And if you can then you are obviously not human (or female). I have been waiting for a good romance and I have found it! But more to the point; Ethan is special. He is more powerful than anyone can fathom, he is controlled, and smart. He has amazing powers that makes the Avengers look like child's play. He is passionate, decisive, and he is thoughtful. He hasn't had the best childhood but all that time alone allowed him to master his powers and shaped him into the leader he is today. Ethan also has a vulnerable side. There are moments in the book when he shows a different side of him that makes him more relate able and that much better.

The book follows quite a few people, Itzy, Osiris, Seth, Vendri, Ethan, and Melody and if you are paying attention the jumping around POVs aren't hard to follow. This book and series is filled with mysteries and questions that leave you chomping at the bit for more. There isn't too much going on at once which is nice because the question that I’m stuck with are large enough by themselves. So much greatness in so little time leaves me with only one question left to ask, “How much longer must we wait in agony until the second book comes out?”

Review 

 This book had some very high standards to live up to. I love David Levithan’s writing style and everything I’ve read of his has been a favorite. But I haven’t ever read an Andrea Cremer. So with that being said here is what I have to say. 
Invisibility is one of the most unique paranormal books I have ever read. If for no other reason than the subject matter that makes is paranormal. I mean an invisible boy? And not just temporarily but like born that way? Yep, I would have picked up this book no matter who wrote it. I put this book on my to-read shelf on Goodreads in February and as I was scouring the web for any information it would give me about Invisibility I checked David Levithan’s Facebook. Omageeze I am so glad I did. I found out the He and Andrea Cremer would be in Seattle the day after Invisibility went live and I totally squealed. Like in the middle of Starbucks. So long story short I went to the signing, made a complete fool of myself (But that's what life is for, right? *crickets chirp*), and got Every Me, Every You and Invisibility signed. WOOT. So now that you know the back story here is the actual review.
This will be an interesting endeavor...
Stephen is a breath of fresh air. I really love the hot swoony guys who make me sigh and blush and all that jazz. But Stephen is different and I really liked him- a lot. And since he has been invisible to everyone since birth he obviously grew up in isolation from the outside world and doesn't know how to make a lick of conversation, right? Wrong! Stephen has spent his life observing human interaction and this has made him a great conversationalist with humor to boot. 
Elizabeth isn't your run of the mill paranormal female lead. Though she does make some mistakes  she isn't an idiotic boy crazy stereotypical chick who when you see your like, “Are you naturally that stupid or do you have to work at it? She has a pricklier side but it just makes her more resilient to the crappy situations the fates enjoy giving her. But he is also protective, caring, a little self conscious, and of course funny.
Invisibility will find its not so invisible place on my shelf. It will stand in all its proud glory and ensnare me again and again in it’s fantastical pages. Made possible by a blog post not meant to be any more than a happy authors daydream.

“I told them you wouldn’t come alone. Yet here you are,” Kale’s dark voice said from the doorway. “You’re an odd one.”

“You don’t realize it, but coming from you, that’s kinda funny,” I said, swallowing hard and turning to face him. The light from the hall lit the entire right side of his face, leaving the left cloaked in darkness. Two sides of the same dangerous coin. I wanted to back away but resisted, meeting his gaze straight on. My Kale was in there somewhere—and he could sense weakness. “Did you kill her?”


            “She’s dead.”

            
“I figured as much,” I said, jaw tense. Another step closer. “But I’m asking if you did it.” 


            He cocked his head to the left and I could see his expression. Confusion. “You asked the same thing about the other girl. Why does it matter?”

            “Because it does. It matters to you, too. You just don’t remember.”

            He took another step. Inches. He was inches from me now, the warmth from his body radiating like the sun. Every one of my muscles plunged into an all-out war with my heart. Common sense screamed for me to match his steps forward with ones away. Keep your distance—he’s dangerous!

My heart wanted to move closer. I wanted this to all be nothing more than a bad dream.

            “I feel like...when I look at you—” He shook his head and placed a hand on either side of me, up against the mattress, and brought his face close to mine. For the longest moment all he did was stare. When he did speak, there was so much rage in his voice. “You stabbed me. When that didn’t do the trick, you pushed me from the bridge. I’m asking you why?”

            “I never did that, Kale. No one’s ever pushed you from a bridge as far as I know. I promise. As for the scar, yeah. You were stabbed. Alex did it.”

            “You’re lying, Kiernan.”

            “I’m not. And my name is Dez,” I said, voice cracking under the weight of his words. “Deznee.” I wasn’t ready to give up, so I went with what had always worked for me. Something insane.

            Pushing forward, I crushed my lips to his, wrapping both arms around his neck to lock him in place. He didn’t resist and, to my surprise, didn’t shove me away. Instead, after a moment, he responded, his lips moving fervently with mine.

            The kiss only lasted a few moments. I was the one who broke it, pulling away as the clouds passed, allowing the moonlight to shine through the bedroom window once again. For a second, neither of us said a word. His cheeks glistened with my tears, making it look like he’d been crying, too, as he stared—eyes wide and mouth agape—like he’d never seen me before.

            For a crazy, insane moment, time froze. I thought maybe the kiss had done the trick. That this time the princess had woken the prince. He looked at me with a mix of shock and awe, the tiniest hint of my Kale gleamed through. My heart pounded so loudly I could barely hear anything else. It was there. I could see the spark in his eyes. “Kale?”

            But it didn’t last. Or maybe it hadn’t been there at all. Maybe I wanted to see it so badly that I imagined the whole thing.

            His lips parted and the corners tilted upward just a hair. “Roz is right. You are crazy.”

Pivot point is a must read! I cannot believe how much I loved this book :). I’m going to tell a little secret here. When I picked this book up at the library I thought it was becoming (my brain decided to give me the silent treatment apparently.) so I went to read it and I was like hold the phone! But once I realized my mistake I was O.K. because I had wanted to read this book anyways but anyways...

Addison Coleman, the socially awkward, geeky, and slightly sarcastic Divergent. She can Search her future. Sounds awesome right? Well it is except for now she has to use her gift to decide which parent to life with once they get their divorce. Whether to stay in the only home she has known in a community of people with higher intelligence and paranormal abilities. Or to venture out and move to the outside world.

By the third chapter you are reading two different stories. Now, it is not as confusing as it might seem but you may want to go to a quiet room and be ready to read for a significant amount of time so that you can keep up. I read it in three days(ish), not because it was a long book or it was boring but it was just a lot to take in. I can’t say too much without giving the story away but I can say the romance was steamy but stayed completely within the Young Adult/ Teen genre, there was some action that I was not expecting. The book was amazing and as much as I would love to say more about the totally hot and swoon-worthy boyfriend, I can’t :/. The author did an amazing job with a totally original book and I can honestly say I’m going to pitch-slap someone if I don’t get more info on the sequel soon...

Review:

Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome. The Collector is flippin’ amazing. And Victoria Scott is flippin’ phenomenal.

Dante Walker: Enter the egotistical jerk of a leading male and through whom you read the entire book. Hundreds of pages filled with his thoughts and perspective. Dialogue heard through his demonic ears and sights seen through his judgmental eyes.  Sounds great, doesn't it? Well I have to give Ms. Scott props, it was original. She didn't sweeten it up or give us readers and easy road to falling for him.

Charlie Cooper: Here she is, the magnificently innocent leading female.  There is seriously no way not to love Charlie. She gets caught in the cross fire of Dante’s life and takes everything with stride. She isn't perfect, but who is?  But when does mess up she takes responsibility and does what she can to fix it. She is smart and trusting and I can’t find one thing I don’t like about her.  

Victoria Scott did a phenomenal job. I was anticipating this book with great intensity for months and all the pining paid off. The writing was flawless. The characters were life-like. And the plot was seamless. I was in a reading coma for 8 hrs-no joke- while reading this book. Incredible all around.

“Dante,” Blue says, like he has a brilliant idea, “Let’s get some French fries. Do they have French fries here?”

“French Fries!” Charlie punches her arm in the air and hits the roof of the cab.

The cabbie looks at me with utter defeat, like he’s seen this a million times and has finally accepted his fate.

Annabelle covers her mouth to keep from laughing, then lays her head on Blue’s shoulder. He in turn lays his head against the window, and Charlie lays her head on Annabelle’s shoulder.  They look like fallen dominoes. Or fallen soldiers. Or maybe just drunk asses. I tandem, the close their eyes and pass out.

I cannot wait for this new book. I have been waiting quite impatiently and I still have 24 days left! Ugh! I have extremely high hopes for this book. It is extremely original and I can't wait to see what Victoria Scot does with this. Dante Walker in the ultimate bad boy and thus my weakness (I love my bad boys). Charlie sounds like such a fun girl and I just canot wait to get to know these characters. The fact that the book is is the male's POV makes it that much more appealing to me. I love to get inside the boys head to see what he's thinking.
